Italian Journal of Engineering Science: Tecnica Italiana (IJES), formerly titled Tecnica Italiana, was established in 1930s. After a few decades of suspension, IJES now takes on a brand-new look with the support of International Information and Engineering Technology Association (IIETA).
IJES is an international journal for scientists, engineers, technologists and technicians aimed at circulating new developments in the fields: 1) heat transfer and fluid dynamics applied to industrial and technological processes, 2) environmental problems.
Advances in the understanding of heat transfer with reference to technological application continue to be crucial in achieving improved performance and efficiency in a broad range of fields. A notable characteristic of the journal is the orientation to the fundamental results of the investigations of different physical processes, always jointly presented in real conditions, and their mutual influences. Papers reporting the application of these disciplines to design and development, with emphasis on new technological fields, are also welcomed.
This is an open access journal which means that all content is freely available without charge. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles in this journal without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author.
Focus and Scope
The journal covers (but is not limited to):
- heat transfer
- fluid dynamics
- industrial and technological processes
- environmental problems
Publication Frequency: half-yearly
- Open Submission
- Peer Reviewed
Peer Review Process
A double-blind reviewing procedure is adopted by IJES. After submission, if the topic of the paper is appropriate for the journal, the paper is sent to editors and will reach a panel of experts as reviewers involved in the relevant research area, who can be either external or members of the editorial board. Each paper is reviewed by at least two reviewers. The final decision concerning the paper belongs to the editor-in-chief. The review comments will be returned to the author. There are four possible outcomes:
a) Accepted: the paper will be published without any revision.
b) Minor revision: the author will be required to revise the paper according to reviewers’ comments and then return the revised paper to the editor. The paper will be accepted at the editor’s discretion.
c) Major revision: the author will be required to significantly revise the paper according to reviewers’ comments and then return the revised paper to the editor. The paper will then undergo another round of peer review.
d) Rejected: the paper will not be published.
Upon acceptance, the author will receive an acceptance letter sent by the editor in chief or managing editor and be required to prepare the paper in MS Word using the template of IJES.
