Abstract:

Whole Body Cryotherapy can be considered as a therapeutic complement consisting to place the human body in a hermetic chamber, where the temperature varies from -60°C to -110° C for a short period of time. Despite the benefits of cryotherapy, it is essential to insure that the exposure to the extreme cold is safe and do not alter physiology of human body. This is why it is essential to know precisely the thermal transfer occurring at the cutaneous surface of the patient during WBC session but also to have a precise knowledge of the aeraulic and thermal conditions within the cryotherapy cabin. The experimental study is based on the acquisition of skin temperature maps to deduce the boundary conditions of the numerical problem which will resolved through a CFD code
